Commentary:
Tinggong (Si 19) is one of
three points located in front of the Tragus. Ermen
(Sj 21) is located immediately above Tinggong
at the uppermost border of the Tragus, and Tingui
(Gb2) is located at the lower border of the Tragus.
All three have the similar action of benefiting the
ear, and are often needled together, or rotated in
treating a wide variety of ear disorders.
Interesting to note is that Tinggong
has the added action of 'calming the spirit' and is
used to treat 'sadness below the heart.'
